Dr. Shalini “Reyna” Grant is from New Orleans. She went to college at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. She completed her Pediatric internship at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. She then finished her Pediatric residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB). She was honored to be chosen to serve as a Pediatric Chief Resident for the residency program at UAB.

Dr. Grant is board certified in General Pediatrics. She was in private practice in Birmingham for several years while her husband, Matthew (a native of Lafayette), completed his fellowship in Radiology.  In 2011 they moved their family back home to Lafayette. They have three young children, Natalya, Bryn, and John Matthew. They are active parishioners of St Mary’s Catholic Church.

Dr. Grant has been working as a general pediatrician in Lafayette since 2011. She currently serves on Pediatric Advisory Council for Women and Children’s Hospital. She is a member of Louisiana State Medical Society, Lafayette Parish Medical Society, and is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In her free time Dr Grant enjoys cooking, swimming, watching college football and spending time with her children.
